Born in Salt Lake City but a Colorado resident since the age of three, Dr. Hansen completed all of her undergraduate and post-graduate education in the Centennial State. She received her B.A. in molecular biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1989, then went on to the CU Medical School. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver in 1997. Dr. Hansen is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.
A practitioner at Boulder Women’s Clinic since 2000, Dr. Hansen’s special interests are in menopausal transitions including hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and non-hormonal treatment options, gynecologic surgery, advanced and routine care.
Dr. Hansen is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of both the Colorado Medical Society and Boulder County Medical Society.
In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities, including mountain climbing, backpacking, trail running and skiing.

Kathryn Johnson, PA-C has been practicing primary care medicine and women’s health care for more than 25 years, joining Boulder Women’s Clinic in 2013. She attended the CHA/Physician Assistant Program at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver where she received both her B.S. and M.S. in Medical Science as well as her Physician Assistant certification. Kathryn has been certified with the NCCPA, the Colorado Medical Board and DEA since 1993 and was recognized as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants in 2009.
She interested in working with women of all ages and in all stages of life from providing contraceptive counseling to working with women to achieve healthy pregnancies to maintaining health into and through menopause.
Kathryn and her husband, Steve, enjoy spending time with their adult daughter, Molly, and with their extended family all over the country. In her free time, Kathryn enjoys hiking, playing games, reading and, most of all, travel!

Jennifer Stanzel, PA-C has been practicing medicine for 24 years, starting her career in Family Practice and Internal Medicine before specializing in Women’s Health Care at The Boulder Women’s Clinic in 2006. Jen Stanzel graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa with a B.S. degree in Medicine and Physician Assistant Certification in 1994. She completed undergraduate studies in her home state of Nebraska at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. As a Physician Assistant, Jen maintains certification with the NCCPA, licensure with the Colorado Medical Board, and maintains prescribing privileges through the DEA.
Special interests include adolescent gynecology, contraception counseling and management, management of abnormal PAP smears and preventative medicine. She has been providing LARC (Long Acting Contraceptive Contraception) care for over 10 years including IUD and Nexplanon insertions.
Jen and her husband have 3 children ages 9, 11 and 14. Some of their favorite family activities include camping, skiing, traveling and playing board games.

Lauren Weaver PA-C was born and raised in Colorado. She has been in women’s healthcare for more than 10 years. She received her undergraduate degree from CU Boulder in 2007 and went on to complete her physician assistant studies at Duke University, completing a Master’s of Health Science in 2011. She recently moved back to Colorado after a long tenure in the San Francisco Bay Area – she is so happy to be back home and join the team at Boulder Women’s Clinic.
Women’s healthcare has been Lauren’s focus from her first job in Chicago in Gynecologic Oncology in 2012 to her most recent position at a busy OB/GYN clinic in Palo Alto, California. She loves this area of medicine because it follows patients through so many important life changes and decisions. Her goal is to provide thorough and compassionate care whether patients are seeking contraception, care for an acute problem, or addressing routine screening and health maintenance. Special areas of interest are family planning and infectious disease.
Outside of her career, Lauren can almost always be found with her two young kids, spouse and their giant dog, Bender the Great Dane.
